Best options flow tools in 2026

Options flow tools show large and unusual options orders as they print, and most "best options flow" lists are affiliate pages that quote a price and move on. This roundup compares eight tools on things you can check: how fresh the data is on each plan, whether dark pool prints are included, how many alerts you get, and what it costs. We make Tradewink, and it is on the list because people search for it next to these tools; it is also the entry that is not an options flow feed, and its own options-flow signal type is currently paused. Every price and limit below was read from the vendor's own pages on October 10, 2026.

Vendor details checked against each vendor's own pages on . Tradewink details from its public plan data.

Each tool: what it does and where it is not the right fit

1. Unusual Whales

Best for: A full real-time flow tape with dark pool downloads and a free delayed tier

Unusual Whales sells an options flow and market-data dashboard. Its pricing page lists a Free plan with delayed data and three paid Retail plans (Basic, Pro, Max) with a real-time feed described as the full tape with 100% market coverage, daily options and dark pool data downloads, alerts, screeners and an AI analyst, plus separately priced API access.

Where it works well

  • Real-time flow, daily dark pool downloads and screeners are all on the paid retail plans
  • A free delayed tier lets you see the dashboard before paying
  • Limits per plan are printed, and annual billing is cheaper

Where it is not the right fit

  • You need real-time flow on the free plan: its flow is delayed by 2 trading days
  • You want a refund path: the page says sales are final
  • You want written reasoning for each trade idea: the page describes a feed and an AI analyst, not signals with entries and stops

Read from: Unusual Whales pricing (October 10, 2026)

2. BlackBoxStocks

Best for: Options flow plus scanners and live trading rooms in one subscription

BlackBoxStocks lists four plans. Options Basic includes real-time options flow, algo-based options alerts, daily open-interest changes, an options volume ratio scanner, a heatmap and most-active lists; Options Plus adds dark pool data, multiple live options trading rooms, net delta and gamma exposure and historical options flow; Equities Plus and Premium add stock scanners, volatility tools and downloadable data.

Where it works well

  • Options flow, alerts and a volume-ratio scanner start at the lowest plan
  • Live trading rooms and dark pool data on higher plans
  • Four plans, each with a printed feature list

Where it is not the right fit

  • You want to try before paying: no free tier or trial is listed
  • You want a refund path: the page says all sales are final and subscriptions auto-renew
  • You need dark pool data on the cheapest plan: it starts on Options Plus

Read from: BlackBoxStocks pricing (October 10, 2026)

3. Tradytics

Best for: Options flow context with AI trade ideas and a Discord community

Tradytics' site lists a free Basic Access plan (market overview, AI news feed, delayed analytics, simple flow data, daily scanner, free Discord channels), Full Pro Access with live options flow, advanced analytics, AI trade ideas, AI portfolios, premium scanners and the premium Discord community, and a plan for Discord server owners with options sweeps and bots.

Where it works well

  • Free tier includes a daily scanner and simple flow data
  • Options flow and AI trade ideas in one subscription
  • Large Discord community for discussion

Where it is not the right fit

  • You need to know the delay on the free tier: it is described but not quantified
  • You need dark pool data or alerts assigned to a plan: the plan list does not do so
  • You want per-idea reasoning you can audit: the plan list does not describe it

Read from: Tradytics home page and pricing section (October 10, 2026)

4. FlowAlgo

Best for: Sweeps, block trades and dark pool prints with real-time alerts

FlowAlgo's home page describes real-time alerts for intermarket sweep orders and option block trades, equity block and dark pool print data with a dashboard, voice alerts and historical data back to June 2017. It does not break features down by plan.

Where it works well

  • Latency is described in numbers, which most vendors here do not do
  • Sweeps, blocks and dark pool prints are the core product
  • Historical data back to 2017 is listed

Where it is not the right fit

  • You need one clear price: the home page shows several offers and no plan table, so confirm at checkout
  • You want scanners or screeners: none are mentioned on the home page
  • You need dark pool data in real time: it may appear hours later or the next day

Read from: FlowAlgo home page (October 10, 2026)

5. InsiderFinance

Best for: One all-inclusive plan with flow, dark pool prints and a free flow page

InsiderFinance's pricing page lists one feature set on every plan: real-time options order flow, unusual options activity and sweep activity, dark pool and equity prints, a crypto and forex market scanner with news, historical data on demand, custom watchlists and Discord access. The plans differ only in billing length.

Where it works well

  • No tier ladder: every plan has the same features, so the choice is billing length
  • Annual billing brings the listed price to $55 a month
  • A free flow page lets you look before you subscribe

Where it is not the right fit

  • You want named alert limits or an API: the pricing page lists neither
  • You need to know the data delay: it says real-time without a figure
  • You want a short commitment at the lowest price: the cheapest rate needs annual billing

Read from: InsiderFinance pricing (October 10, 2026)

6. Market Chameleon

Best for: Options volume and volatility research with free tiers and one premium plan

Market Chameleon's home page lists free Starter and Newsletter services, a Premium membership with a 7-day free trial, an Unusual Option Volume report and a Notable Option Trades table. Its subscription page lists one plan, Market Chameleon Premium, with download limits per rolling 24 hours.

Where it works well

  • A free tier and a 7-day trial before the $99 plan
  • Unusual option volume and notable trades sit next to volatility and earnings research
  • One plan, so there is no ladder to decode

Where it is not the right fit

  • You need real-time flow: the page we read states 15-minute delayed market data
  • You want to know which features Premium unlocks: the plan page links to a separate information page
  • You want a sweep and dark pool tape: neither is described on the pages we read

Read from: Market Chameleon home page, Market Chameleon Premium subscription page (October 10, 2026)

7. TrendSpider

Best for: Unusual options flow inside a charting and scan platform

TrendSpider is a charting and automated technical-analysis platform. Its learning center describes an Unusual Options Flow feature with "real-time" data, monitoring, analysis and visualization, and its pricing page lists scheduled scans, alerts, backtests and bots. Which plans include the flow feature is not stated on the page we read.

Where it works well

  • Flow data sits next to charts, scans and alerts
  • Alert and bot limits are printed per plan
  • Backtests and bots are in the same product

Where it is not the right fit

  • You want a dedicated flow tape with dark pool prints: the feature is one part of a charting platform
  • You need to know which plan includes it: the page we read does not say
  • You want a free plan: the trial itself is paid

Read from: TrendSpider pricing, TrendSpider unusual options activity guide (October 10, 2026)

8. Tradewink

Best for: Reading written signals for a watchlist; not an options flow feed

Tradewink is the product we make: a watchlist-first signal service. You add the tickers you follow and it publishes signals for currently enabled signal types, each with entry, stop, target and written reasoning, plus paper tracking. It has an options-flow signal type, but that type is currently paused, so it is not a flow tape.

Where it works well

  • Each signal arrives with entry, stop, target and written reasoning to review
  • A free plan with no credit card, and a 7-day Starter trial
  • Fits next to a flow tool as the review layer for tickers you already follow

Where it is not the right fit

  • You want live options flow, sweeps or dark pool prints: its options-flow signal type is currently paused, so use a flow tool from this list
  • You want to filter every contract that traded: it works on a watchlist, not the whole options tape
  • You need intraday data on the free plan: it is delayed 15 minutes, and real-time starts on Starter
  • You want live order routing from a public plan: public subscriptions are paper-only

How this list was built

We started from current "options flow" and "unusual options activity scanner" search results and kept tools whose own pages state plan details we could read. Where a vendor page gave no price, no delay figure or no plan breakdown, the table says "not stated" instead of guessing. Two well-known vendors, Cheddar Flow and OptionStrat, blocked automated fetch, so they appear under "not included" with no claims. Entries are ordered by the job they do, not by a score. We did not test any feed, and nothing here says how a flow signal has performed: unusual activity is not a prediction of direction.

Left out because we could not verify it

  • Cheddar Flow: its pricing page and home page returned HTTP 403 to automated fetch on October 10, 2026, so we state no price or feature for it.
  • OptionStrat Flow: its pricing page and home page returned HTTP 403 to automated fetch on October 10, 2026, so we state no price or feature for it.
  • Trade Ideas: its pricing page lists real-time scanning and AI signals but no options-specific feature, so it is not an options flow tool; see the dated scanner roundup.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best options flow tool?

There is no single best one; it depends on whether you need a full real-time tape, dark pool prints, alerts, a free tier or flow inside a charting platform. Among the tools here, Unusual Whales lists a full tape on its paid retail plans and a free delayed tier, BlackBoxStocks bundles flow with scanners and trading rooms, FlowAlgo states its latency in numbers, and InsiderFinance sells one all-inclusive plan. Compare the data delay and the plan limits first.

Is there a free options flow tool?

Partly. Unusual Whales has a free plan, but its options flow is delayed by 2 trading days. Tradytics lists a free Basic plan with simple flow data and delayed analytics, InsiderFinance links a free flow page, and Market Chameleon lists free Starter and Newsletter services with 15-minute delayed market data. Delayed flow is workable for learning how the feeds look, not for acting on a print.

Does unusual options activity predict the direction of a stock?

No. A large print can be a hedge, part of a spread or a closing trade, and none of these pages publish an audited record of how flow alerts performed. Treat flow as a reason to look at a ticker, then check the chart, the news and your own risk limits before deciding.

Is Tradewink an options flow tool?

No. Tradewink has an options-flow signal type, but it is currently paused, so it should not be your reason to choose Tradewink today. It works on a watchlist you build and publishes signals with entry, stop, target and written reasoning for currently enabled signal types. If options flow is central to how you trade, use a flow tool from this list.

Do I need dark pool data as well as options flow?

Only if you trade around large off-exchange stock prints. Dark pool data is listed as part of BlackBoxStocks Options Plus and above, as daily downloads on Unusual Whales paid plans, and as dark pool and equity prints on InsiderFinance and FlowAlgo, which says it may be reported hours later or the next day. It is separate from options orders, so check which one a plan actually includes.

How current are the prices on this page?

Every vendor price, delay and limit was read from the vendor's own pages on October 10, 2026, and each is linked under Sources. Flow vendors change plans and run promotions often, and FlowAlgo's page showed several offers at once, so confirm at checkout before you buy. Public subscriptions are paper-only; separately approved private beta accounts may submit live broker orders.
