Built on Anthropic Claude

Autonomous AI Trading Agent Powered by Claude

Tradewink is an autonomous trading agent built on Anthropic's Claude. Claude Sonnet handles heavy reasoning — multi-agent debate, trade evaluation, exit decisions, post-trade reflection. Claude Haiku handles fast routing — sentiment scoring, headline summarization, classification. Every candidate trade is debated by a four-specialist team (technical, fundamental, sentiment, risk) before any order is sent to your broker. You keep the broker account. The agent does the work.

Non-custodial across eight supported brokers. See real-time published signals or compare plans and Claude model access.

Why an agent built on Claude

Most "AI trading bots" are rule engines dressed up in AI marketing. They fire on a single indicator, ignore context, and break the moment the market regime shifts. Tradewink's autonomous agent is different by construction: it composes 40+ concurrent async loops that each specialize in a slice of the market — price, news, options flow, SEC filings, prediction markets — feeding a central event bus that reacts in real time.

The reasoning layer is Anthropic's Claude. Claude Sonnet runs the heavy work: a multi-agent team where the same model plays four decorrelated specialist roles — technical analyst, fundamental analyst, sentiment analyst, risk officer — and then a bull-vs-bear debate before the final conviction score on a 0–100 scale. Claude Haiku runs the fast work: sentiment scoring, headline summaries, exit-strategy updates, and routing classifications. Only trades that clear the consensus gate AND the rule-engine gate are sent to the executor. That is agentic behavior — reasoning over context, not matching a rule.

The agent also learns. Every closed trade is post-mortemed by a Claude reflection loop that extracts lessons — what the agent got right, what it got wrong, what regime it was wrong in. Those lessons are embedded into a vector memory and pulled into the conviction score on future trades. Read the deep dive in What is AI trading?

Core capabilities

Claude multi-agent team

Technical / fundamental / sentiment / risk specialists debate every candidate. Claude Sonnet for reasoning, Haiku for routing.

Regime-aware execution

HMM-based regime detection gates position sizing and exits.

Risk manager with teeth

Daily loss circuit breaker, position limits, PDT enforcement, confidence gate.

Real-time event streams

Alpaca WS bars, Finnhub news, SEC EDGAR filings — all flowing through priority queue.

Adaptive strategies

Momentum, mean-reversion, breakout, VWAP, ORB — picked by regime and ticker profile.

Self-improving loop

Trade reflections feed future conviction scoring — the agent learns from its own trades.

Non-custodial by design

Smart order execution

VWAP/TWAP slicing on large orders, broker-native stops, reconcile on every fill.

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect Discord

Join the Tradewink Discord and link your account. Discord is the primary control surface — slash commands, agent alerts, conviction summaries, and trade confirmations all flow through your DMs.

  2. 2

    Connect your broker

Register your broker API keys (Alpaca, Tradier, IBKR, Schwab, Webull, TradeStation, Moomoo, tastytrade). Keys are Fernet-encrypted with PBKDF2 and stored non-custodially — Tradewink never holds your funds.

  3. 3

    Set your preferences

Configure 50+ trading preferences: max position size, daily loss cap, excluded tickers, excluded sectors, max trades per hour, PDT enforcement, micro-account mode, and which strategies the agent is allowed to run.

  4. 4

    Agent runs 40+ async loops

The autonomous agent spins up 40+ concurrent async loops covering price, news, options flow, SEC filings, regime detection, and prediction markets. Every candidate is scored by a Claude multi-agent team (technical / fundamental / sentiment / risk) before any order is sent to your broker.

Frequently asked questions

Is Claude good at trading?

Claude is one of the strongest reasoning models available, which is why Tradewink uses it as the conviction layer on top of rule-based screeners — not as a standalone signal. Claude does not see live order books and cannot predict price; what it does well is weigh many noisy inputs (technicals, news sentiment, SEC filings, options flow, regime) and surface inconsistencies. Tradewink uses Claude Sonnet for heavy reasoning (trade evaluation, exit debates, post-trade reflection) and Claude Haiku for fast classification and routing. The agent only trades when Claude's conviction score clears the user-set threshold AND the rule engine agrees.

What is an autonomous trading agent?

An autonomous trading agent is a software system that continuously monitors markets, identifies opportunities, forms a decision, and executes trades without human intervention on every step. Tradewink runs 40+ concurrent async loops across data ingestion, AI analysis, risk management, and execution — reacting to price movement, news, filings, and options flow in real time. The autonomy lives in the loop: scan → AI debate → risk check → execute → reflect → learn, repeating 24/7.

How does Tradewink use Claude?

Claude powers Tradewink's reasoning layer. Every trade candidate goes through a multi-agent team where Claude Sonnet plays four specialist roles — technical analyst, fundamental analyst, sentiment analyst, and risk officer — and then debates a bull vs bear case before the final conviction score. Claude Haiku handles cheaper, high-frequency calls: sentiment scoring, headline summarization, exit-strategy updates. The model tier resolves per subscription, with router fallback to Anthropic's API directly when OpenRouter is unavailable.

Can I run an AI trading agent on my broker?

Yes. Tradewink is non-custodial — it never holds your funds. You register your own broker API keys (Alpaca, Tradier, IBKR, Schwab, Webull, TradeStation, Moomoo, tastytrade) and the agent executes directly into your account. Keys are encrypted with Fernet/PBKDF2 and can be revoked at any time. See the supported brokers page for the full list and connection guides.

Is autonomous AI trading safe?

Safety is a property of the guardrails, not the model. Tradewink ships safety-first defaults: trading disabled on signup, paper mode on, daily loss circuit breaker, position limits, PDT rule enforcement, per-user max trades per hour, and an audit log of every action. Live trading requires explicit opt-in and is gated by a manual allowlist for the first cohort. Paper mode is available to every user. No trade happens without your authorization.

How is an autonomous agent different from a trading bot?

A traditional trading bot follows a fixed rule set — buy if RSI < 30, sell if price crosses SMA. An autonomous agent reasons over context. Tradewink's agent weighs technicals, news sentiment, regime detection, options flow, and SEC filings, then runs a multi-agent Claude debate before opening a position. It also updates its own playbook over time by learning from closed trades via a post-trade reflection loop.

Is autonomous AI trading legal?

Yes — trading your own brokerage account with software you control is legal in the US, and the SEC and FINRA do not prohibit automated or AI-assisted execution. Tradewink is a research and automation tool, not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. It publishes signals and runs the workflow you configure; it does not give personalized investment advice or hold your funds. You remain responsible for your account, your tax reporting, and your broker's automation and pattern-day-trader rules. Nothing here is investment advice.
